DONE: James Longworth and Jane Walsh

James Longworth and friend
When James Longworth was born in June 1874 in Adlington, Lancashire, England, his father, John Longworth (1832-1880), was 42 and his mother, Alice (nee Loxham) (1839-1891), was 35. He had three brothers and eight sisters.

James married Jane Walsh in 1898 at the registry office in Bolton, Lancashire, England.

Jane Walsh was born on May 24, 1873, in England. She married James Longworth in October 1898 in Bolton, Lancashire, England. I have no other information about Jane or her parents as I don't have a copy of the marriage certificate.

James and Jane had three children during their marriage:
  • Isabella Longworth (1900-?)
  • Sarah Alice Longworth (1903-1986) married John Harold Bamber (1905-?)
  • Elizabeth Ida Longworth (1910-1988) married Ernest Holding (1911-1965)
Baptismal Records have not been located for any of the children.

In 1901 we find the family on the census with Isabella at nine months old. James is a cloth dresser in a bleach works. They are living at 35 Catherine Street East in Horwich, Bolton, Lancashire, England.

In 1911 we find the family living at 67 Chorley Road in Blackrod. James is still working at the bleach works and Isabella is at school. Also living with the family is a border.

After 1911 we lose track of the couple. There are suggestions from other Ancestry.com users that they both died in the late fifties and there appear to be some matching death registrations, but I haven't been able to verify the dates.
